Peer Support is a nationally recognized program developed by law enforcement agencies and adopted by other emergency response departments to promote and provide mental health and stress management support among individuals in high impact, emergency response-based careers. Peer Support is effective as a first line of assistance and basic crisis intervention to assist fellow workers during times of acute or chronic stress

Where we are now.
Built by a First Responder in 2016, the Routt County Peer Support Team was founded on a simple belief: those who serve on the front lines deserve support from people who truly understand the job.
Today, our cross-discipline team now consists of responders from 5 different counties, brings together law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatch, and other first responders to provide confidential peer support grounded in trust, experience, and shared service.
Through the secure Peer Connect App—or by simply calling or texting a peer of their choice—every first responder under RCCS has immediate access to help when they need it most.
What began as a local initiative has grown into a trusted regional network of more than 500 connected responders across Routt, Moffat, Jackson, Grand, Summit, and Rio Blanco Counties. By building strong relationships with neighboring peer support teams, we ensure that no responder stands alone and that trusted support is always within reach across the High Country.
